HEAD OF ART (m/f)
Your tasks:
Leading one of our projects

• Working with the project manager to define art tasks and gather estimations
• Developing and defining the style of the game in cooperation with our clients
• Briefing and monitoring artists
• Working hands-on in the project if required

Leading the Art Department

• Supporting Recruiting
• Training and helping the artists to develop their skills
• Organizing knowledge transfer among the artists
• Pushing the quality of our artists and the artistic value of our products
• Acting as communication link between management and artists

Supporting the Pitching Process

• Creating or mandating pitching artwork (concept artwork, screen mock-ups,…)
• Organizing task estimations for project pitchings

Your profile:

• At least 5 years of professional experience (games, movies or TV)
• A great eye for art styles and artistic quality
• Knowledge of art principles, architecture, color and lighting
• Strong background in traditional drawing and/or illustration
• Time management skills with an ability to juggle multiple assignments effectively
  
• Good understanding of the technologies and specs involved in creating games
• 3D software skills, preferably Maya (experience with other packages are a plus)
• Knowledge in digital sculpting programs
• Texturing skills, proficient use of painting programs
  
• Experience and readiness for mentoring and tutoring other artists
• Excellent communication skills
• Good written and spoken English

Ideally:

• Worked on released games
• Experience in different middleware applications
• Experience in animation (including rigging, setup, etc.)
